Sometimes, a small rocky chunk enters Earth's atmosphere and burns up, creating a bright streak. Even as it falls toward the ground, we still call it an asteroid.

You can see a small, incredibly bright and fiery rock plunging aggressively downward through Earth's atmosphere. It is leaving a brilliant, glowing trail of intense fire and thick smoke against the bright blue daytime sky as it heats up due to extreme atmospheric friction.
